Bottle. Aldi. Served in a matching glass, cos it’s Christmas, innit? Clear, light amber colour. Ring and island of bright, white head. Nose has caramel biscuit. Toffee. Cheap orange juice. Bready lager malts. Taste is mostly sweet, with a light, metallic bitterness. Drunk well chilled, the mouthfeel is light and clean enough. Some bitterness to finish. Not bad. I’ll manage the other three that came in the box, easy.

UK Aldi selling a gift pack as Ackerland, Bière de Noël, 4 x 25cl bottles and a badged bulbous glass: £5:99. Had two of the bottles today (23rd Nov 2017) while preparing a Thanksgiving meal for a few family members. Clear dull golden pour, no head after ten seconds. This is beer is just a semi-strong Lager with a slight tweak for Christmas (adding orange flavouring and some spices). To be fair it isn't awful, but it isn't good either. Will have to fob someone else off with the two remaining bottles!

F: thin, tanned, not long lasting. C: dark, opaque. A: dark malt, fruity, bit roasted tones, bit cocoa. T: dark malt, cocoa, bit fruity, dry on the palate, bit herbal, caramel, medium body, low to medium carbonation, nothing interesting, 33cl bottle from Carrefour hypermarket in Hazebrouck, France.

Blond colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some pale malts. Quite fresh and zesty for a lager.

(Bottle, from Bottl3.5hop, Stockholm) Hazy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of peaches, orange juice, white bread and some hay. Fruity, sweetish taste with peaches, nectarines, orange, white bread, a touch of coriander and a sweetish finish with hardly any bitterness. Light body, with a certain sweetness. Not very complex, but tasty and refreshing. Quite enjoyable.

bottle from Leclerc Reims-Champfleury. Cloudy pale yellow with a tall and fluffy white head. Fruity nose. Wheaty and yeasty start, lots of tropical fruit, classic banana & bubblegum. Not over-carbonated, quite smooth and pleasant.
