Bottle from Erzbierschof Zurich, bottled January 2015. Pours dark brown with some red notes. Almost no carbonation. Aroma is plums, burnt roasted malts, coffee, dark ripe fruits, port barrel. Taste is heavy, lightly bitter, almost flat, but very fruity and dark. Fruity palate, but actually rather dry and surprisingly easy to drink. Good, yet not outstanding.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Scoopy. Pours hazy orange with a bubbly white head. Piney hops in the nose, a little wood, ripening citrus. Light sweet flavour, with bready pale malts, faint caramel, jammy citrus. Light to medium bodied, a little flat. Finishes with soft woody dryness, orange rind. So so.

Bottle shared at level 42. It pours hazy deep golden with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, very fruity, red grape, sweet vanilla, oaky, jammy berry, orange marmalade, mango, passion fruit and a touch of micro chips on the backdrop. The taste is dry, sweet, sticky, mango, passion fruit, a touch watery, bitter, tannins, oaky, vanilla, mild acidity and boosty wine with a soft finish. Light - medium body and soft carbonation. Aroma is nice, but the taste is a touch watery. Interesting though.

Bottle shared on Level 42 14/03/2017. Huge thanks to Kenny for this one. A hazed deep golden orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is sweet, floral, perfume, sweet juicy passion fruit, Little woody grape on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody, grape, spicy, oak, white oak, . Palate is semi sweet, low carbonation, grainy, woody tannin. Really interesting.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Scoopy, 14/03/17. Hazed golden orange with a decent off white head that soon collapses. Nose is wooded, madeira tones, straw, spice, grains, citric peel, light funky vibes, melon. Taste comprises tarte citric peel, wooded notes, spice, lemon drizzle, farmhouse notes, funk, more maderia. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok if a little weird at times ... not one I could drink too much of!

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Palate is light and slightly thin for the abv, modest fine carbonation. Mild tangy dark malts. Little dark chocolate. Fair bit of tangy Madeira and Madeira ripe dark fruits, Touch of wood. Nice. Very Madeira but could have done with a thicker sweeter malt base.

Draft - Big dark roast with some dark Berry sweetness and booze. Dark roast, dark fruit, light sweetness and a long roasty finish. The Madeira come across, but not the plum.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Mean Sardine / To Øl Blommer I Madeira ].Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, dark malt, roasted, plum, madeira, raisin. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark malt, raisin, plum, chocolate, thin.
