Golden ale with more of a saison profile with herbs, spices, silky mouth, pleasant.

Notes from October 2012 Bottle from Made in Oregon. Duvel tulip. Foggy honey orange body. A generous off-white head that jiggles like Jello. Attempts to even top it off are thwarted, as it simply runs off the sides. Pretty, but half a point off for making me wait. :P Smells of tangerine rind, floral, menthol, earthy yeast. -Edited to note that I do smell the pear others have mentioned, though only when taking in shallow, open breaths. Crisp & chalky. The pale ale malts are throwing me off, but the mellow tartness & grassy yeast sort of put things back in place. Toasty sweetness & some sharp rind on the drying finish. Faintly metallic. Bitterness is right there, without being vulgar. Frothy. Bright & refreshing. Just lacks a bit for a saison. Really easy. Enjoyed it, but it gets a lower overall score, because it seems like it would be more rewarding in 4-packs.

Notes from November 2012 Bottle from LetsPour dot com. Ommegang chalice. Already well into strong ale season, a lonely saison walks in out of the cold. Cloudy, yellow orange, turning mustard on the second pour, as it gets stirred up w/ sediment. Hollow, egg white head. Chalky, saline, menthol scent. Bready yeast. Muted. Taste is Incredibly chalky & stiff straight out the fridge. Letting the bottle sweat turns the beverage doughy sweet. Not really enjoying that either. Frothy. Begins to feel quite thick. Envelope glue bitterness, some leafy greens. Battery acid & flour finish. Bland yeast. A short review just because I'm so disappointed. Hope this year's SN Celebration can cheer me up.

Nice stuff. Light sweetness, fruity creaminess. Nice saison back bone. Good stuff.

Amber body with small white head. Malt and fruit aroma. Full malty taste with spicy stripes.

On tap at brewery. Pours clear yellow with white head. Aroma is dank with bright stonefruit. Flavour has stonefruit and pale malts.

On tap at brewery. Pours clear yellow with white head. Aroma is floral with saison yeast. Flavour has saison yeast, straw, bitter floral notes. Solid saison, just enough bitterness to dial it in.

On tap at brewery. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma has lots of Brett, dry wood, and spicy saison. Flavour has saison yeast, Brett funkiness, and dry wood. Solid saison, Brett and wood are a bit too dominating, but still very good.

On tap at Portland taproom. Pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is chewy and salty, gentle wine barrel, honey. Flavour has honey, restrained saltiness, dry white wine, vinous finish. Wine barrels and honey work really well with the gose. Fantastic.
