Bottle from O’Brien’s, Athlone [240816]
Reddish brown, frothy off white head
Aroma of caramel malts, vague fruits
Taste of caramel, soft fruits, dab of citrus zest, some bitter spicy notes
Palate - Medium carb and body, bitter. Finish as bit dry, some bitter toasted malts come though, a bit harsh
Overall - Wasn’t sure about this at first but gets better with the drinking. Not one of their best tbh

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy, sweet-ish wheaty aroma, notes of orange peel, coriander. Taste is wheaty, spicy, hints of lemon, orange peel, coriander, minimally dry and soapy. Follows the traditional path - slavishly, without Irish twist.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com at an ABV of 5.6%. A reddish chestnut pour with a thick cream head; citrus aroma with a touch of spicy rye; dry with some resinous hops and a sweet caramel malt body; then a dry lingering warming spicy toffee finish.

Light haze on this paleish yellow beer, thin white head. Palate is light, dry and finely crisp. Tart lemon, puckery but thankfully no acid. Little lemon sherbet. Minerals. Dry finish. Light and drinkable.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark coca cola pout with a creamy tan head, aroma has chocolate, taste has cocoa, dark fruit, bitter plain chocolate, something not quite right.
