About
The Eagle Brewery was previously a Charles Wells brewery site and became part of Marston's (Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company) wider business in May 2017. The Eagle Brewery continued to brew many of the former Charles Wells brewery brands sold to Marston's including brands such as Bombardier, Courage, and McEwan's.

The site of the Eagle Brewery was sold by the Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC) to S.A. Damm (Grupo Damm) in November 2022, and became Damm Eagle Brewery (this is listed separately). The Eagle brands remained with CMBC. Carlsberg purchased the remaining Marston share in 2024, and Carlsberg Britvic was formed in 2025. The Eagle beer brands thus become fully owned by Carlsberg Britvic.

Certain brands (Courage, McEwan’s and Young’s) are still produced by Carlsberg either at Northampton or Burton. These live brands have been moved to sit under Carlsberg's head office in Northampton.

This entry will remain for historic Eagle Bedford beers which, with very few exceptions, were discontinued prior to or shortly after the sale of Eagle Brewery to Damm and not moved to Northampton or Burton for ongoing production.

Bottle. Bronze color, weak foam. Aroma of banana lemonade, sweet, candy. Tastes: banana lemonade, sweet, bread, slightly crazy dessert.

Bottle. Golden color, white foam. Fresh aroma, light malt, some apple and light hops. Taste: smooth, pleasant malt, light fruit and a little spicy hop, bitter finish, drinkable.

Tap. Amber with gold color. Aroma: sweetish, caramel, flowers, esters, apple, jam. Slightly sweet taste, malt, jam on biscuit, candies, light earthy bitterness, drinkable.

0,5 l bottle from Vrutak, Zagreb as Eagle Brewery Banana Bread Beer. Shared with prof. Bekić. Clear golden, small off-white head. The aroma is intense banana bread, almost wouldn't call it fake. Flavour is sugary, malty and perfumy with banana candy taking over. Sweet. Light body, moderate to high carbonation, light finish. No base style preserved, only this fake flavour.

0,5l bottle from Stonemanor, The British Store near Brussels. F: medium, egg-white, almost good retention. C: deep gold, clear. A: malty, bready, bit spicy, bit honey. T: medium malty base, light toast, bit honey, bready, decent bitterness, soft carbonation, ok not bad, drinkable.
