4 oz. draft at Extreme Beer Fest, 3 Feb, 2018. My first impression is that this would be a novelty. I can admit I was wrong. The aroma is like blackberry jam. All blackberry. This is a “pastry” sour if that makes any sense. Lasting tart blackberry with notes of vanilla, and fried dough. The tartness cuts through the sweet flavors and has a slight creamy texture. I wonder what this is like canned. Really interesting! And yeah, I could drink a good amount of this.

4 oz. draft at Extreme Beer Fest, 3 Feb, 2018. Appearance shows a deep brown with a black hue. Aroma is subtle berries, chocolate, mild funk. The flavor is a great balance of raspberry, sourness, and chocolate. All natural flavors and not a novelty at all! I loved this. Thinking about seeking out cans. Wonderful balance, easy tartness.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, green apple, citrus zest, berry, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, green apple, citrus zest, berry, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness and mild herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, green apple, citrus zest, berry, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness balance, and zero puckering flavors after the finish, Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness. Medium carbonation and light body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an excellent dry hopped Berliner weisse. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly acidic/drying finish. Flavorful and not watery feeling for the ABV, never overly lactic. Mosaic and Triskel hops. Great balance of Lacto and citrus/tropical hop complexity; with a nice solid pale/wheat malt backbone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, cherries, spices/salt, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, green apple, red grape, vanilla, coriander, sea salt, almond, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light bitter/spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, green apple, red grape, vanilla, coriander, sea salt, almond, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, light lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, cherries, spices/salt, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited gose! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, cherries, spices/salt, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and extremely refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish. Vanilla is definitely more noticeable here than the key lime gose. Super jammy authentic tart cherry presence with balanced wheat malts/vanilla; not overly salty or lactic. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Tastes like cherry pie as advertised.
