Description
Urban Artifact is Ohio’s home for sour beer; located in the historic St. Patrick’s church in Cincinnati. With a special emphasis on fruit beers, they have created a niche with their signature overfruited Midwest Fruit Tart style focusing on balance, drinkability, and real fruit. Brewing a bevy of different sour beers, from the standard German style gose, to the exotic spontaneously fermented barrel aged sour with a wide variety of different fruits, there is sure to be something new and exciting to explore. We are currently on pace to use over 400,000 lbs of real fruit this year alone!

Our Northside, Cincinnati taproom is open seven days a week, with food service provided by Wildfire Pizza Kitchen. We host live music five nights a week at the Radio Artifact Live stage, and make the historic church sanctuary, The Reliquary, available for receptions and events.

Radio Artifact, the Urban Artifact hosted independent music radio, can be listened to on 91.7FM HD2 in Cincinnati or live streaming online at radioartifact.com

Can courtesy of Geraint and Helen, cheers you two. Consumed at home after a Birmingham Beer Day Walk, Saturday 9th December 2017. Pours hazy light gold. This has a really good balance of sour, tart and veery drinkability. Citrus (lemon) comes through with a little lemsip style softness, a touch thin but others might suggest refreshing. Really nice. Can from BrewDog website and drunk at home. Hazy russet colour lasting beige head. Sour aroma. Blueberry flavour no doubt and a little vanilla sweetness. Mostly sweetness then a sourness. It's fine. Just don't get it. Don't know what to make of it. Some sour blueberry juice. Straightforward and nothing too complicated. Hides ABV very well. Simple.

Pours like a smoothie. Minimal off white head immediately disappeared leaving a still, thick, caramel coloured body. Aroma of stewed fruit, white wine & over ripe fruits. Medium bodied, chewy, finely carbonated - clean & crisp on the finish. Stewed fruit & vegetables, citrus, lemon, white wine & vinous tastes. This is just like an alcoholic smoothie.

Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours lightly hazy purple with a tiny white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, tart, juicy, blueberry, fruit pie, vanilla, touch of funk and blueberry cobbler. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, lactic, sour blueberry vibes, touch of vanilla, earthy, wood, lemon sherbet, granny smith apple, bright acidity and damp leaves with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly. Bright and juicy. Nice.

Incredibly sweet booze-bomb, bourbon serving as the dominant flavor, overpowering any barnyard and/or sour brett notes and leading to a cloy, caramel-laden sugary back end. Some lemon-orange in the middle, enough to give the pint a whiskey sour vibe, and a mild oak flourish on the back end adds a woodsy-herbal tint to the massive sweetness. Too little too late, though; the caramel and bourbon are way too aggressive. Good texture, okay pour, and the nose promises a much more complex beer than we actually get. Not for me.
