Description
Outer Range Brewing is a community-driven microbrewery in the small mountain town of Frisco, Colorado. Co-founder and Head Brewer Lee Cleghorn’s love of craft beer began when he lived in Belgium as a teenager, where the first beers he ever drank were world-class Belgian ales. That background has served as inspiration for his IPAs, which showcase the ester profile of these traditionally hop-forward beers. A graduate of the American Brewers Guild Brewing Science and Engineering school in Vermont, Lee runs Outer Range with his wife and co-founder Emily, who is the Chief Marketing Officer and leads the brewery’s branding, marketing, and sales efforts. They met while homebrewing beer together ten years ago, and today, brew for and with a passionate community who lives at the intersection of craft beer and the outdoor mountain lifestyle.

Pint can. Pineapple aroma with notes of blueberry, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, orange and tangerine. Pours hazy pale golden colored with half a finger of off white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with juicy pineapple, blueberry, orange and papaya flavors. Finishes dry but still fairly smooth with passion fruit, grapefruit and tangerine flavors. Good stuff.

Tap at Pastryccioni Festival, in Rimini, Italy. Pours fully hazy, juice-like, with a thick head of white foam. Aroma is intensely hoppy, piney, tropical, fruity. Body is slightly dense than average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium bitter, with some pungency and a little fruity sweetness behind. Final is fairly intense and persistent.

Aromas are a blend of citrus, resin and malt. Nothing too distinguishable. Flavors are somewhat similar to but much better than nose. Add in bits of pineapple, increased citrus, melon, and mint. Well balanced. Leans just slightly sweet. Alcohol is well hidden. I could have another one of these.

Pour is a clear gold with a big fluffy white head. Aroma is some white beard and honey malt. Flavor is more bread crust malt with a little spicy hop on the back end. Maybe a bit thin on the mouthfeel but everything your looking for in a Czech pils is here.

Aromas are okay resin with citrus and malt. Flavors are similar to nose and bolder. Great balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Been done many times before but still good drinking and tasty.
