Description
Outer Range Brewing is a community-driven microbrewery in the small mountain town of Frisco, Colorado. Co-founder and Head Brewer Lee Cleghorn’s love of craft beer began when he lived in Belgium as a teenager, where the first beers he ever drank were world-class Belgian ales. That background has served as inspiration for his IPAs, which showcase the ester profile of these traditionally hop-forward beers. A graduate of the American Brewers Guild Brewing Science and Engineering school in Vermont, Lee runs Outer Range with his wife and co-founder Emily, who is the Chief Marketing Officer and leads the brewery’s branding, marketing, and sales efforts. They met while homebrewing beer together ten years ago, and today, brew for and with a passionate community who lives at the intersection of craft beer and the outdoor mountain lifestyle.

Canned 440ml. -at Ambasada Zagreb. Hazy pale yellow coloured, medium sized airy white head, citrus and whiff of grapefruit in the nose. Citrusy, grapefruity, soft juicy, bit grassy and touch of chinotto with quite dry bitterish finish.

16 oz. can. Pours a clear, golden color, with a smaller, off-white head. The aroma is caramelized sugar, elderflower, papaya, light resin, orange oils, and light caraway. Sweet and malty, with a bold, piney bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and a bit phenolic. Bright and aromatic, and remarkably interesting.

Aromas are a mild balanced blend of citrus, resin, mint, malt. Flavors are similar to nose and extremely drinkable. Mainly tangy and I could drink these all day. Just enough sweetness to balance the tang.

Draught Huge, dense yellow head over greenish tinted pale golden beer. Fresh New World hops with lots of ureum, traces of pineapple, citrus, asafoetida in descending order. Bitter, grapefruit(peel), again ureum, traces of resing. Feels more slick than the clear aspect would suggest. Lots of (fruity) sugars in the aftertaste; better carbonated than looking as well. Grew on me, but too much harsh ureum in the nose.

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a transient white head. Aroma is plum, yeast, clove, banana. Approaching full bodied. Not dry, but avoids sticky. Clove stands in for bitter. Flavor is yeast/spice, banana, clove and some fruity esters. Very clean, good flavor.

Shaker pint drat at Tipsy Cactus TapRoom & Bottle Shop in Mesa, Arizona. The pour is a clear golden with fine carbonation bubbles rising up to a foamy white head. Pretty beer. The aroma is fresh cracker malt, bread and noble hops. The taste is clean pilsner malt and earthy noble hops along with a soft delicate floral. The palate is light bodied with active carbonation and a floral mineral finish. Tasty pils.
