Description
Outer Range Brewing is a community-driven microbrewery in the small mountain town of Frisco, Colorado. Co-founder and Head Brewer Lee Cleghorn’s love of craft beer began when he lived in Belgium as a teenager, where the first beers he ever drank were world-class Belgian ales. That background has served as inspiration for his IPAs, which showcase the ester profile of these traditionally hop-forward beers. A graduate of the American Brewers Guild Brewing Science and Engineering school in Vermont, Lee runs Outer Range with his wife and co-founder Emily, who is the Chief Marketing Officer and leads the brewery’s branding, marketing, and sales efforts. They met while homebrewing beer together ten years ago, and today, brew for and with a passionate community who lives at the intersection of craft beer and the outdoor mountain lifestyle.

Pours hazed amberblonde. Medium sized white head. Stable. Scent is full, pine, crystal malts. Taste is full , quite bitter, medium pine. Crystal malts, feels fairly old in its maltyness, not as crisp as i would hope for it to be. Best by date a few days ahead so makes sense, in retrospect. Given the actual age, its still quite enjoyable, actually.

Aromas are pine resin, citrus, malt and a hint of MJ. Flavors are similar to nose and very well balanced bittersweet. Good carbonation and body. Very drinkable but nothing special.

Pint can. Peach aroma with notes of strawberry, pine resin, mango, papaya and passionfruit. Pours clear pale golden colored with a large white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with juicy peach, strawberry and papaya flavors. Finishes dry but still quite smooth with mango, passionfruit and pine resiny hop flavors. Decent.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20260405) The beer poured yellow and opaque. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had pineapple, mango and grapefruit. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grapefruit, mango, pineapple, floralness and bitterness. Aftertaste had citrus fruits, herbalness and bitterness. A tasty fruity brew.

Aromas are citrus pith, malt, A little tropical fruit and a slight hint of MJ. Flavors are similar to nose. Change that MJ to skunk weed with great balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Slightly sweet finish. Pretty good.
