Description
Fremont Brewing was born of our love for our home and history as well as the desire to prove that beer made with the finest local ingredients – organic when possible --, is not the wave of the future but the doorway to beer's history. Starting a brewery in the midst of the Great Recession is clearly an act of passion. We invite you to come along with us and enjoy that passion -- because beer matters.

On tap at Fremont - Columbia City, pours a hazy bright rosé with a small white head. Aroma has a nice tart blackberry character, along with lacto, and wispy wheat. Flavour is fruity and yet dry, with a nice, dry, jammy blackberry character, light lacto, and fluffy wheat as the base. Good fruit character, legit Berliner base. This is very good.

On tap at Fremont - Columbia City, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has unfermented wort and straw. Flavour has that same unfermented wort, pretty deficient hop profile, and straw. Not a great character but inoffensive.

16 oz. can, pours a lightly hazed blonde with a medium white head. Aroma brings out plenty of grassy hops, crunchy crackery malts, and straw. Flavour is dry, biting, and fairly bitter, with a nice grassy hop bitterness upfront, some husky malts, and a crisp crackery finish. A bit too astringent without the hop vibrance but very nicely balanced and drinkable.

12 ounce can from Tavour. Jet black pour. Frothy tan head. Roasted malt aroma hints at baker’s chocolate and dark roast coffee. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor upfront. Notes of dark chocolate, espresso and charred wood. Medium bodied, but intensely flavorful. Dry, bitter finish has a hint of smokiness.
