Description
Fremont Brewing was born of our love for our home and history as well as the desire to prove that beer made with the finest local ingredients β organic when possible --, is not the wave of the future but the doorway to beer's history. Starting a brewery in the midst of the Great Recession is clearly an act of passion. We invite you to come along with us and enjoy that passion -- because beer matters.

Bottle, 375 ml, shared with Hrvoje at Last Drop. Black with tan head. Intensive chocolate, some bourbon, licorice, beautiful smooth texture, just perfectly thick. Great stuff.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a lofty tan head that foamed and did other things. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee, chocolate and more. Approaching full body. Almost dry and definitely bitter. Flavor matches the aroma. Amazing flavor.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear, light bright gold with a slight transient white head. Aroma of grass/spice with some mixed citrus and tropicals. Med body or so. Fairly dry. Decently bitter. Malt is barely discernible. Flavor is grapefruit, melon and grass/spice. And even more. Good stuff. Mayhap more IPA impact than pilsner impact.

Canned 2/19, drunk 7/6/25.
Dark. Probably clear. Large, frothy, lighter-tan head, good retention.
Big fruity coconut with gently spicy bourbon and low coffee/roast. Dark chocolate, lots of nuttiness, light vanilla and definite graham cracker-like character. Not boozey. I'm a tough sell on coconut, but this is authentic and doesn't bludgeon you to death with it.
Nutty, fruity and coconutty with a healthy bourbon spice that appears later in the sip. Lingering pepper, light oak and tons of lush fruitiness. Again, low coffee, but that's fine with me. Coconut still fairly strong, but it works nicely against the bourbon and fudgey malts. Sweet graham cracker, vanilla and marshmallow lingering. Probably jumped the gun on opening this by about 3-6 months, but it's still soft, supple, comforting, flavorful and fruity with no booze or raw/unfinished sugar. Just maybe a bit big, burly and intense yet.

375ml (thx, Josh!) shared with Alex @ Ryan's deck enjoying a finally arrived warm days. 2023 release.
Aroma: nice American oak, fruity, some nice sophisticated sweetness, noticeable kinda smoky spirit.
Taste: along the same lines, on the thin side for almost 16% ABV. Probably because of that spirit is even more noticeable. It is quite smooth, though, and sophisticated.
Overall: pretty good, but I expected a little bit more from it.

Ol reliable delicious licorice stout even for those that don't like licorice. Soft chocolatey coconut licorice vibes all over. Perfect mouthfeel as always.
