Description
Fremont Brewing was born of our love for our home and history as well as the desire to prove that beer made with the finest local ingredients – organic when possible --, is not the wave of the future but the doorway to beer's history. Starting a brewery in the midst of the Great Recession is clearly an act of passion. We invite you to come along with us and enjoy that passion -- because beer matters.

poirs dark brown,, settles dark brown with a brown to light brown quite fizxzy head. coconut juice and bounty like industrial coconut in the nose. coconut dominates heavily, hard to tell if this is a chocolate cake with coconut frosting, a bounty bar or perhaps a crazy coconutty beer.
flavor has a good dose of roasted malts and some woody bourbon'ish notes. also tons of coconut juice, but the coco works way better in flavor than aroma, tiny bit of chocolate-liqueur like note, some sweet marshmallow like candy like notes, ends fairly roasted malty but with the ton of adjuncs clearly piled on.. is 2026 now, this 2019 bottle has aged perfectly, nobody could tell the age from the flavor. If I really try to detect age it may be present as a super subtle dried fruity note, but that note could very well have been there the whole time as a natural consequence of the barrel aging or the yeast used.
great bottle, decadent, good sipper.

Pint can, 2026 vintage. Cinnamon aroma with notes of cacao, chocolate, toffee, licorice, orange, molasses, vanilla, whiskey and oak. Pours deep brown with half a finger of mocha brown head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with rich cacao, chocolate, licorice, toffee and vanilla flavors as well as having a rich, full body and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with cinnamon, orange, whiskey, oak and molasses flavors. Quite nice.

Waxed bomber. Aroma is oaky, boozy, sherry, toffee, nutty, peaty. Pours opaque dark brown with a thin beige head. Taste is moderately to highly sweet with oaky, caramelly, sherry, oxidized, bourbon, and peat kissed flavors. A little too rich, but I’ll sip on it to the dregs.

650ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with late awakening, small, creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, off-white head. BA supported, dark and caramel malty aroma, notes of caramel, dark caramel, Bourbon, some vanilla. Taste is BA supported, sweet-ish, caramel malty, minimally dark malty, minimally rye-spicy-smoky, notes of caramel with a minimally sugary touch, dark caramel, dark honey, treacle, Bourbon, some vanilla, bitter hoppy counterpart; lingering, bitter hoppy, minimally warming, alcoholic finish.
Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, very fine, dense, soft, creamy carbonation.
Very smooth, homogeneous, quite some malty subtleties - pretty good!

22oz @ Phill's shared with Josh.
Aroma: caramel and oven-dried fruits (apples, pears, etc).
Taste: along the same lines, not as thick as I would expect.
Overall: decent, but not the best from the series.

Dark amber. The aroma has a fairly deep fruitiness to it, and on the palate, very fruity indeed. The raisin, fruitcake character is prominent and the bourbon is prominent, maybe even a bit rough. Fruity, toffeeish and with a decent barrel, the base is probably lacking refinement? Something is - it's not a bad beer but something seems just a little bit off.

Cloudy body with white head. Light hoppy aroma, Pleasant taste with more hops than one would expect. Quick fruit finish.
