Bottle thanks to Stefan, too generous. Creamy ruby brown pour and minimal head. Nose is bourbon and vanilla and toffee and some red fruit. Tastes of dried cherry and apricot, toffee, nugget, bourbon, oaky, some alcohol film. Creamy mouth feel. Slight warming after burn. Quite nice

1st beer of the day on my San Clemente bus trip. $1:50 All Day Senior Bus Pass see's me take the hour long journey from Laguna Hills (and back later), Tuesday 2nd September 2025. US Pint on tap in the Beach Hut Deli by the North Beach Station at 11:30 in the morning. Almost clear golden pour, smooth white crown. Piney rather than fruity (hope it's the correct beer) to me. Bitter and earthy, really enjoyed it.
Creamy vanilla and caramel for days, tons of barrel notes and raisins. Delish!

Dark brown. Rich and inky, nice and thick. The aroma is bright cinnamon, maybe cardamom and nutmeg but definitely those classic rusty nail spices. On the palate, it does feel like a deeper mace/cinnamon spiciness. Cassia? Get out the flavour wheel. The base is rich, syrupy, with a bit of chocolate. Alcohol rounds it out. The barrel is rounded, but also a bit brash. It's a big, assertive badass beer.

375mL bottle, pours black with almost no head. Nose is still full of cinnamon bark upfront, with plenty of bourbon barrel, a touch of licorice, oak, leather, and miscellaneous spices. Flavour is likewise full of cinnamon bark, tons of hot bourbon, and oak. I’ve never been a huge fan of The Rusty Nail, due to the cinnamon, and the double barrels don’t save this. It’s still a good beer, but fails to deliver an elite experience for me.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2025 vintage). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Super intense cinnamon bark (needs to mellow a bit - too much), mild barrel notes, good, but too much.

375mL bottle. Pours deep dark brown with a small beige head. Tons of great bourbon character and woody spices on the nose. Flavour has deep bourbon, molasses, lots of dark liquorice, some woody spices. The spice profile is very strong, but the bourbon and malts are keeping balance. I'm still a fan.

16 oz can. Aroma of coconut, mild roast with a steady amount of bourbon.
Flavor follows with addition of coffee and oak. Molasses traces. Bourbon is not hidden. Yet, not overwhelming and it doesn’t slap you in the face. Slight warming after the sip. It is a nice stout!

Can from Tavour. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of citrus and peach. Not quite med body. Juicy but not sugary. Not all that bitter, but bitterness does persist into the finish. Flavor is light mixed fruit. Not a very strong flavor.

Pint can. Orange citrus aroma with notes of melon, peach, mango, passion fruit, grapefruit and grass. Pours hazy golden colored with a finger of white head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with juicy mango, melon, peach and orange flavors. Finishes smooth but a touch dry with passion fruit, grapefruit and grassy hop flavors. Pretty good.
