Description
Barrier Brewing Co. is the collaborative effort of brewers Evan Klein and Craig Frymark, located in Oceanside, NY. Brewing their first batches on a 1bbl system (2 kegs at a time!) in June 2010, the two expanded the business to a 5bbl brewhouse in June 2012 which operated for four short months before being severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy. After several months of rebuilding, Barrier reopened in late-February 2013. The brewery currently produces nearly 50 different beers throughout the year totaling 1500bbl annually, all of which is self-distributed throughout the NY metro area.

0.473l can. Aroma of pine, citrus, passion fruit and caramel. Pours clear amber brown color with large soapy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts refreshing tropical fruity, citrusy and herbal with solid toasted malty backbone, following is medicinal, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is dry and bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Red, bitter & tasty…

Can @ The Hoptimist, Manhattan (Jul 2025). Pours hazy bright yellow with a foamy off-white head, faint citrus peel aroma, adequate carbonation, initially sweet then medium bitter mandarin orange-mango taste, thin body, long finish. There is an overwhelming saccarine type of sweetness with this brew.
