330mL bottle at Bierhaus, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel, dark dried fruits and some light boiled vegetables. Flavour is a nice balance of sweet and hoppy, with caramel malts, resinous hops and bready malt. Well-balanced, that mandates to not be abrasive or cloying. This is great.

On tap at Bierhaus, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out medium roast, piney hops, and light toasted caramel. Flavour is punchy, with roasted malt, earthy hops and some earthy dryness. Not the most assertive of black IPAs, but it's balanced competently and packs some punch. Solid.

On tap at Bierhaus, pours a deep dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, roasted malt and some earthy hops. Flavour is robust for a brown ale, with burnt toasted malt, earthy notes and toasted nuts. Very earthy, tasting like the ground. It's okay.

On tap at Bierhaus, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma brings out spicy chilis and cocoa upfront, with a toasted malt base. Flavour is very spicy, with lots of chili peppers and a tiny hint of cocoa. Not the best blend of flavours, but it's pleasant enough for a spice bomb.

On tap at Bierhaus, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings outs lots of ashy smoke, with some black pepper to accentuate. Flavour is along the same lines, with smoked malt upfront, and a nice cracked black pepper to back. Nice incorporation of both the pepper and smoke. Solid stuff.

Flavour is similar, with piney hops, light earthiness, some herbal character and a dry biscuity malt base. Piney hops on the finish, with a dry biscuity underside.
