Bottle at CBJ tasting, thanks to LKS, 27/11/24. Black with a lasting khaki head. Nose is chocolate, roast malts, charr, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises toffee, cocoa powder, charr, roast malts, dried fruit rinds. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so ... a little tired and lacking depth.

Bottle shared at CBJ - picked up via trade in the US. Pours clear, black-brown with a modest, foamy tan head. Medium sweet flavour with notes of well toasted biscuits, it if ashy roast, earth, old brownies, raisins. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate sweetness to finish, heart dark malts, nip of black coffee, earth, dark fruits, chocolate. Nice, old-school straight-ahead impy stout.

Bottle thanks to LKS. Near clear dark brown beer, decent bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow and slightly tangy dark malts, mellow dark chocolate, a touch of coffee. A little spice on the semi dry finish. Not bad.
