22oz bottle pours a hazy copper amber with some clumpy white head. Smells like the pellets that heat a pellet stove, woody, caramel, vegetal, metallic, oranges. Flavor is metallic, sweet, orange, caramel, green pepper, apple. Full bodied, sweet finish. Needs 3 to 4 years in the bottle.

Bottle shared by Matt. Pours a deep hazy brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has some musty grains with some dark grains a bit of sweetness and a hint of plastic. Flavor has roasted malt with dark chocolate with a hint of backing sweetness.

Clear dark brown pour with a thin ring of foam for a head. Smells like a bag of candy. Brown paper, molasses, some licorice, some vanilla and chocolate and maybe some mint too.. No hop aroma. The flavor is complex and sweet and pretty much follows the aroma. I don’t really pick up much character from the Bourbon, but perhaps it is subtle and is what is offering all of the complexities in the flavor. Caramel, dark dried fruits, molasses. Pretty tasty and I like that the Bourbon flavors are understated and balanced with the malts.

Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Nose/taste of vinous grapes, spent grain, dirt, earth, oak and light chocolate. Vinous notes completely dominate the other flavors of the porter but are also very soft and subtle. Almost like drinking a very muted red wine. Body on the lighter side of medium. Decent experiment, but I was expecting more. Maybe, it would benefit from a little more aging.
