Notes from 1/28/17 On tap at Miriam's in Brooklyn. Mmm... brunch beer. Long wait for breakfast, but it's usually good. A Brooklyn Brewery tap handle, tapped over with the word stout. The $8 short pour into a pils glass wasn't what I expected, but I'm still hopeful. Matte black body, off white, fleeting head. My waiter double checks that the BK tap is indeed out. Smells mild & minerally. Toasty grain, bark, a little anticipated sweetness. Mellow. Taste is even more mellow. Reserved, restrained, blase. Faintly minerally, light char & malt. Incredibly thin. No bitterness or structure to base off of. No real lactose sweetness like their website states. Watery, undercarbed, bland, alcohol delivery system. Boring beyond any perceived quaffability.

Bretta and some citrus. Pretty sure the bretta was unintended. Pours hazy orange with decent head. Booze, caramel, a hint of tangerine. Sour and tangy finish. Bottle.

Bottle. A- Grassy, corn, straw. A- Yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Grassy, straw, bitter, grains. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- $8 for a bottle drank from the bottle. Only thing at a dive bar I hadn't had but was there simply for the friendship and not for the beer. Would not drink again. Not terrible but rather aggressively bitter and grassy.
