Blond color, giant head, fine perlage. Deep fruity aroma, of green apple, cider, wood, sugar, violet, delicate strawberry and ananas. Pretty dry, with some malt and green apple. Difficult to conceive a valid palate for such beer. Original, not terrific but well brewed; couldn't drink too much.

Thanks to NDmullet for this one, although it took me so long to get around to drinking it that it became available in Ohio in the meantime. D'oh! Anyway, this beer pours a deep ruby color with a medium beige head. Aroma of cherry, vanilla, figs, and raisin. Fruity flavor of plum and raspberry, with a lightly chocolate malt finish. Very easy on the tongue, unlike a lot of Belgian Ales. Absolutely smooth and easy to drink. Very good.

Aged 5 years. Hazy amber with a hint of calvados. Lean, but with a hoppy/perfumey/yeasty character. Well-rounded. This has held up very well, even gained a bit in terms of balance. Ar 8 Ap 3 F 8 P 5 O 17 = 4.1
Original rating (Jan 24, 2003): Cloudy yellow. Creamy, peachy, peppery. Strong alcohol and yeast presence. Dry herbal hops. Very complex - my vocabulary fails me but I’m not worried - I will be re-sampling this one! Ar 7 Ap 4 F 9 P 4 O 17 = 4.1

This was the first one of their products I saw, and their best. Yeasty lightly spiced nose.Sweet foretaste with nutmeg and a touch of honey, and a medium alcohol heat.

I first had this at a festival, after an overly sweet brown ale so it was quite puckery. Light citrus nose.Tart citrus and light malt flavor.
