Cherry flavoured ale. Slightly tart and mature, tastes of fresh fruit. Treacherously easy to drink. Outstanding!

Not so sweet, there's more alcohol and less body, the mouthfeel is lean; the malt is pleasant, some caramel, cola; the bitterness is mostly gone. It didn't oxidize much. Not too bad.

Brown colour, opaque, with generous compact head. I get earthy and dirty dark malts, no flavour depth, moderately sweet, with alcohol and some anise. Very low bitterness.
Not my kind of beer anymore.

Dark brown color; it pours watery, fizzy, with a medium sized head that disappears quickly, completely. The aroma, with caramel and chocolate, is distinctive and pleasant. The body is thinning, with caramel flavor, almost no sweetness, and a light oxidisation; the final is quite weak in the mouth, and also not much bitter anymore. Drinkable but too old.

Dark amber ale. Nice fresh aroma of hop and porto wine. Powerful brew, strong body, malt, raisin, alcohol, light liquorice. The palate is balanced but not very long and hoppy.

Cloudy light beige; lemony aroma with some pale malts; has a wit-like malt profile full of biscuits and quenching wheatiness, along with lemony notes and a fluffy, whipped cream texture. A tasty, complex ale. Just be thankful you don't have to go to the deplorable St-Hubert Chicken restaurants to get it.

Pale tan, hazy, good head; slightly orangey, wheaty, yeasty, almost peachy nose; creamy body; sweet bready malts, mandarin oranges, yeast in the palate; finish is yeasty, slightly alcoholic and lightly peppery. Similar to a few of their other pale beers, but very tasty.

Tan, cloudy w/pillowy white head. Cranberry aroma with vague bread, wood and hop...in other words, you know there's beer underthere somewhere. Mostly cranberry on the the palate, as the malt and hops both sit back and chill out. The yeast, as in all Ephemeres, is still very much a factor. Refreshing and fruity with an off-dry finish and less tartness than the others in this series.

2019 re-rate. Medium brown, with a head that falls quickly. But the cork popped really nicely. Has a nice plummy aroma with coriander, dark sugars and the Unibroue signature yeast. The palate is sweet, with light tartness, a lot of really nice fruitiness and dark sugars. Plums, raisins. Coriander and house yeast. Well-balanced. Drinks very nicely for its strength. Not much bitterness but nor is it cloying, something that speaks to fermenting all the way. Just a touch of alcohol in the finish, but really, not that much. All told, this is still an excellent beer. I think my previous rating (4.4) was probably a bit high, but I'd still say this is the class of the Unibroue lineup, and a beer I really should drink more regularly. 2004 re-rate: Cloudy burgundy-chestnut colour. Rich plummy, raisiny, port-like depths in both the palate and the aroma. Notes of apricot, tangerine and Special B also noted. A little fizzy (common problem with Unibroue these days) but with spectacular, unfolding fruits and dark malts. Sleek and sumptuous, these raisins, plums and malts wash over the palate. I remember why I love this beer. 4.4
