Sampled as 'Czig Meister Caldera' (with the same fish on the front of my can as what is in the picture here on RB) Super hazy golden and raw honey coloured body with a very thin, single centimetre tall tan and light beige head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, orange, mangoes, light bitter grassy hops some biscuity malt and a touch of alcohol and bread at the end. Medium-bodied; Rich citrusey flavour of oranges, grapefruit and resin with a dash of grass and dry hay qualities with a little alcohol and astringent medicinal notes at the end, which gives this some warmth and pungency, but all ends well with some sweetness from all the citrus and fruits. Aftertaste shows a great balance with a supportive malt and pungent, but not-too-strong hop bite, with citrus, pine and resin all showing the alpha acids at the end. Overall, a very nice, fairly easy-drinking New England IPA that has a smooth profile, but a nice complexity and less body than others in the style, but not a reduction in pungency. Nice to try and good for the style! I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 21-December-2019 for US$3,69 sampled at home in Washington on 25-March-2020.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a super large, slowish dying tan head that starts out close to ten centimetres (yes 10!) tall that fades to just a small, 'normal' one to two centimetre tall tan head after a few minutes. Aroma of light malt, bread, yeast, a lot of earth and nuts with some vinifera and even concord grapes and a dash of dry grain towards the end. Super light-bodied; Very pungent soured and funky yeast notes up front that show something gone quite a bit wrong, with a light of fruits, citrus, malt, nuts and a lot of the not-so-good yeast and bread notes with the funky, not-intentionally-done soured and bretty characteristics that almost pucker the mouth. Aftertaste shows some dry fruit and funky tart flavours with a little dose of wheat and more of the bread and yeast flavours that anything else with some light grape and vinegar notes as well. Overall, a pretty clear example of how NOT to make a dunkels with a lot of funky, tart and odd yeast/wheat notes that don't show enough earthiness, nuttiness or complexityt throughout - this tastes more like a wild ale (gone wrong) instead of any wheat-based german styled beer, let alone a dunkles. Obviously worth passing on, unless you want to see something unintentionally funky. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-September-2018 for US$1,99 sampled some one and a half years later at home in Washington on 05-March-2020.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, rich three to four centimetre tall rich brown head - very nice, and almost fully opaque - around 90 per cent. Aroma of roasted malt, caramelised sugars, light mushrooms and a big dash of coffee and bitter grain. Medium-bodied; Rich creamy and milk flavours show at first with some lactose and icing sugar still remaining along with a large touch of caramelised sugars and more of the roasted malt and light smoked peat notes than anything else. Aftertaste shows the grain and bitter malt and roasted/burnt notes at first, but give way a bit to some sweetness towards the end with a little pitted fruits peaking through, but really this is all about the caramelised sugar in terms of molasses and some lactose as well. Overall, a nice and robust stout that shows closer to an Imperial Stout than the 5,5 per cent alcohol would indicate, but the richness of the malts and strength of the lactose really show nicely. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 09-March-2018 for US$1,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-December-2019.

Ridiculously hazy deep purple, indigo and ruby tinted body with a fairly large, three centimetre tall pink and purple head - crazy, but those blackberries have a strong natural colour - this is about 95% opaque throughout. Aroma of blackberries (of course), light grass and hay, some subdued lemons and citrus and a touch of light sugars and alcohol - but this is really all about the fruit. Light-bodied; Strong very blackberry-y flavour with a good dry malt and grassy bite soon afterwards with a dash of citrus, caster sugar, along with a touch of very subtle herbs and floral notes - akin to an actual blackberry, fresh from the bush. Aftertaste shows a soft and mellow bite from the citrus and tart notes of the blackberries, but a very dry and grassy note that supports the saison side of the beer - very well balanced and super easy-drinking, while full of flavour. Overall, a good beer - true to the name (Blackberry Saison) and styles with the fruit, really standing out, but the dryness still omni-present...great to try! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 23-June-2019 for US$2,29 sampled at home in Washington on 30-August-2019.

Sample from bottle at Bob's Bar. Black pour with a medium beige head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of oak, malt, fruit and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of vinous oak, roast malt, mildly funky fruit and chocolate. The finish is oaky with a malt and fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
