A bottle of quadrupel containing 33 cl, obtained from a Belgian retailer last year. Mid-January, it's time for a sampling. The Teku glass is on the table, no reason to make a change. The nose is fragrant, heavy with cherries and yeast. The drink, rather fine I say. Fruit cake, dates, sweet bread, dark cherries, a bit of booziness, malt and grain. A nice presence too, lingers on the tongue, a sipper. Concludes with a decent bitterness, plenty to appreciate.

Can. Straight from can during a hike at Ginkelse Heide. Color: White head, hazy golden I presume. Aroma: Hoppy, Kveik yeast. Taste: Hoppy, grassy, wet grass, a bit dank, notes of orange, tangerine, hints of lime. Spicy and yeasty hints. Moderate bitter and sweet. Very slightly sourness. Long lasting bittery and bit spicy, dry finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice.

A 33 cl bottle acquired from one of the Belgian retailers that offer such things. Pulling a tulip glass out of the cabinet to catch the pour, I see a fully black body with a minimal but steady head of medium tan foam. And the scent, I get a big dose of dark fruit and some yeastiness. The taste, ah yes, pretty fine. Black raisins, dark plums, malt, grain, cane syrup and dates. Certainly some sweetness here, a small bitterness and a sensation of creaminess. All the attributes of a decent quadrupel including the elevated abv. Enjoyable, but then I do like my Belgian styles.

Flesje thuis gedronken. Zwart bier met matig schuim dat als een film blijft liggen. Aroma van koffie. Smaak is zoetig en fruitig met een hint van vanille. De kokosnoot komt pas in de nasmaak naar voren.
