Can. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Hazy, orange gold. Frothy, foamy, lasting, off white head. Nice, sweet and spicy, orange rind hoppage. Some ripe nectarine. Hint of oily herb. Pale, crisp malt background. Taste has a little sweetness, followed by a floral, herby bitterness. Clean mouthfeel. Very crisp and sharp. Long, light bitter finish. Great stuff.

Can thanks to Lorna. It pours murky amber with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is fresh, papaya, guava, spice, earth, toasted grain and light herbal accents. The taste is smooth, mellow bitterness, earth, spice, sage, orange peel, papaya and persimmon with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Well rounded and very drinkable.

330ml can drunk at Cineworld while watching Independence Day 2 (terrible film, don’t watch it). No comment on appearance. Aroma brings a welcome zesty hit of Mosaic. Taste is vibrantly fruity with a nice strength to back it up. Definitely does not come across like a lager, but has a nice lightness to the body that makes it effortlessly drinkable. Very good.

330ml can. Murky, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, diminishing, white head. Earthy, herbal-tart-ish aroma, hints of balm, dandelion, vinegar, a sulphureous touch of matches, hints of potting soil, a fruity touch of quince, rotten vegetable tartness. Taste is dry, moderately tart, citrusy, notes of lemon juice, minimally earthy, grassy basis, a rather wide spectrum of unspecific fruitiness, threefold hints of tartness due to unripe fruit, citrus fruit, and overripe fruit, dandelion overtones, lactic sauerkraut interludes as well. Refreshing but not flattering.

Can. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Very hazy gold. Thin, messy, just off white head. Nose has sweet, yeasty, bready, damp and fusty malts. Spicy, floral hop. Some stone fruit. Some earthy notes. Bit of melon. Quite unusual. Taste is light, bready sweet. Earthy bitterness. Plenty of body. Slightly oily mouthfeel, tempered by brisk carbonation. Earthy finish, that gets fruitier as it goes along.

Can. StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Opaque orange. Thin, messy, sticky, white head. Nose has deep, ripe orange, and strawberry. Rich and fruity. Bit of a baked apple thing going on. Clean, grainy malt backdrop. Taste is berry fruit sweet. Some fresh hop oil bitterness. Crisp mouthfeel. Not lacking body. Fruity bitter finish. Altogether a bit odd, but very decent.

Scopey’s grand vertical. Can. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, decent fine carbonation. Light malts and light floral sweetness. Nice mild lemony hop, pinch of lemon sherbet to go with it. Light finish. Best of this bunch for me, Comet works very well here.
