Cask at The William Jolle (W’Spoons), Northwood Hills. A dark golden/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, malty aroma. Tastes similar, vaguely hoppy, malty, slightly bitter. One to forget.

Bottle from B&M Bargains; clear amber pour with thin white head, bready malt aroma, taste has strong malts, some grass and a hint of skunk.

500ml bottle from b&m. Colour is amber almost orange, with a thin with head. Aroma is of hop malts. Taste is malts with a citrus spritz and a bitter finish.

Boks fra Kvickly på Nørrebro: farge og skum som seg hør og bør for en esb. Lett blomsterpreget aroma og smak som gjør den lett over drøvelen. Fin pøseøl, mye bedre enn sip (standard industripøs).

8th Feb 2014. Hand-pulled pint in The Church, just around the corner from the Two Towers Brewery in Birmingham (UK), which is where I was going next. Clean reddy brown body with a head that wasn’t tight at all (Rugby type joke). I liked the look of it. The whole brew is dominated by semi-sweet malty molasses, this isn’t a hoppy beer in any way. I’ve a sweet tooth, so I enjoyed my pint. It is however one dimensional with the maltiness hardly being kept in check, a winter time beer to be drank in front of a roaring fire with slippers on.

0,5L can. Pours nice clear amber with big white head. The head stays..Aroma is metallic and caramel. Taste follows the nose and adds some bitterness. Finish is decent bitter, but also very metallic. Overall: not really good, not good at all.

Cask @ Gordon Arms, Bedford. Light golden with minimal head and lacing. There is a faint unconvincing aroma of citrus-scented washing up liquid and malt. The taste is bittersweet and very soapy. Not a good beer at all.

Can from Super Brugsen, CPH - Pours amber with a good white head. Medium malty and fruity aroma and taste, some caramel, grass, hoppy bitter finish. Better than anticipated for a can from the supermarket. Decent drop.
