Description
A neighborhood institution and a Portland favorite for over 20 years. Find our beers distributed throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Alameda Brewhouse is a brewpub in the heart of the Beaumont Village in Northeast Portland. We have been in business for nine years, offering hand crafted ales and freshly prepared food. All of our beers are produced on location in our 5.5 BBL brewhouse under the watch of headbrewer Carston Haney. He produces a wide variety of beers, from the light, refreshing Siskiyou Golden Ale to the deep, impenetrable Black Bear Double Stout, which won the Gold Medal at the 2003 GABF and the Silver Medal in 2006 and 2008 in the foreign-style stout category. In addition, there is always at least one seasonal beer on tap to fit the mood of the season and one selection served on nitrogen.
Admin Note: Production Facility for distributed beers was located at: 4736 SE 24th Ave Portland, OR 97202

Draft at PreFunk. Hazy, but not much, pale golden, weird, frogs egg like head ( hard to describe). Faint citrus, fruity aroma. Taste adds tropical accents, melon, mango, etc. Light, thin.

Draft pour pint at Park Stone, Portland. Presented in nitro. Thick, dense jet black pour with a tan cream foam head. Flavor is a thick, creamy milk chocolate front that starts to be sweet. Really nice aroma on this, with bold espresso and dark chocolate, and as the flavor settles, it matches this aroma. Such a smooth and easy drinking stout here, that rivals drinkability with some much lighter beers in the style. Chocolate, low bitter coffee, cream. All the good stuff in this stout. Loved it.

Bomber from Albertsons. Mefium amber, clear, bubbly head fades to flat. Sweet candy aroma, hard candy. Taste brings more of the cherry sweetness, tastes artificial. Hibiscus offers tiny notes of floral, dry. A bit too sweet for my liking.

12 oz can poured, as part of my bring a beer out of rating hiatus series. This can was an absolute gusher, and overflowed as soon as I cracked the can, and again during the long attempt to pour it. A golden yellow with a touch of haze. To be fair, this is past the best by date, but I bought it at the bottle shop this way. Gentle pils grain here, smooth and easy drinking for the most part. I feel like this brew slightly soured over time. Nowhere near to an undrinkable point, but an observation. I considered not rating this, because it really seems like this beer has changed since it's freshest point. Overall refreshing enough. Flavor is overall pleasant. Add to the retry list. Hopefully on draft at the brewery.
