Description
A neighborhood institution and a Portland favorite for over 20 years. Find our beers distributed throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Alameda Brewhouse is a brewpub in the heart of the Beaumont Village in Northeast Portland. We have been in business for nine years, offering hand crafted ales and freshly prepared food. All of our beers are produced on location in our 5.5 BBL brewhouse under the watch of headbrewer Carston Haney. He produces a wide variety of beers, from the light, refreshing Siskiyou Golden Ale to the deep, impenetrable Black Bear Double Stout, which won the Gold Medal at the 2003 GABF and the Silver Medal in 2006 and 2008 in the foreign-style stout category. In addition, there is always at least one seasonal beer on tap to fit the mood of the season and one selection served on nitrogen.

Admin Note: Production Facility for distributed beers was located at: 4736 SE 24th Ave Portland, OR 97202

This is a mild, not a bitter. Somewhat light in colour for a mild with a white head and much lacing. Cracker and cookie (for Americans) aroma. Very pleasant tast with a good mix. Cask conditioned.

Draft at Ladd Taphouse. Medium Amber, small silky head. Robust enough to stand on it's own as an IPA. More malty than hoppy. Averagek

Bottle from Homebrewstuff. Dark brown pour with spotty beige head. Nice roasty aroma, hints of chocolate. Taste is more of the roasty bitterness, chocolate, a hint of sweetness. Solid throughout, not usually a porter guy, but I'm enjoying this.

650 ml bottle from Canada Craft Beer Club. Malt characteristics are too heavy for style. Toffee all over the place. Hops are strong but somewhat very harsh and astringent. Good taste only. Style criteria are off.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Normal pour, black with small coating of head . Raspberries in the aroma, but not fresh, more artificial, some chocolate. Taste is more of the same, cheap berry chocolate candy flavors. I got it, it's like a Tootsie Pop. Minor bitterness at the finish.

Bomber shared at Nieuwjaarsreceptie of Gentse Biervereniging. Irregular, lightly lacing, moussy, egg-white, opening head over a hazy straw blonde beer with slight khaki hue. Aroma of lime peel, green beans, fennel, white bread, pink grapefruit, vague vanilla, yellow plum, lemon zest, pepper. Sweetish plum in the onset, gooseberry- and white grape-like tart notes; soft carbonation, fluffy mouthfeel. Soft bready backbone, sweetish but leading to a dry, spicy finish in which that typical 'green plant' spiciness I tend to associate with tequila barrel aged beers, comes through in an explicit and tasteful way, matching with grapefruit flesh hop aromatics and bitter spiciness in the finish. Quite refreshing, complex and noble beer, among the best Alameda brews I had so far.
