This beer is a dark brown color with a ruby tint. Thin light beige head and light lacing. The scent is lightly malty, along with a little coffee. Medium-bodied with mild roasted coffee, malt and burnt chocolate flavors. No flavor really stands out more than any other, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The finish is lightly smoky with a bitter character. Overall this Porter doesn’t really distinguish itself in the field, either as especially good or especially bad. It’s just kind of...there.

A hazy dark amber beer with a white head. The aroma is crazily hoppy combined with notes of grass and oil. The flavor is surprisingly light hoppy - compared to the aroma, and it is also slightly sweet and the body is thin.

(original rate in 2004 - update to reflect current tastes - one dimensional and overly sweet, but does have some decent citrus notes - alcohol is a bit too apparent - meh, it’s okay) This is a pretty solid IPA - good head and impressive lace - spicy grapefruit nose - crisp yet creamy - well balanced malt/hop ratio - citrus combines with a bit of caramel nicely - top notch.

draught at brewtopia - very light in color for a porter - mild aroma - odd mix of berries and smoke in the flavor - roasty - not really worth a shot.

draught at brewtopia - had high hopes for this, which were dashed - hazed? sure infused? I guess - with what I’m not sure - seems like a beer that’s unsure of itself - moderately sweet, moderately spicy, moderately everything - you would think that would balance it, but it doesn’t, it just makes it seem like nothing about it wants to really step up to the plate and wow you - average.

Overall a nice beer for a hophead and something to be avoided for the others out there as this beer has little to offer beyond the hops. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy dark caramel color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma was a strong assault of grapefruit, apple and orange. This beer really has an extremely fruity nose that is very reminiscent of fruit cocktail. The flavor is pure slap you in the face grapefruit. Luckily I am a big hop fan so I found this rather pleasing. Tasted like a hoppy fruit cocktail. The aftertaste was bit flat and dry. There was not a whole lot of balance. The hops did not cling to the tongue unlike many other super hoppy beers I have tried.

Golden-brown colour, with a slight haze. Slightly toasty aroma with Centennials in moderation. Slightly crisp, hoppy. Snappy, light and refreshing for style.

A basic porter and not my style of porter at that. +++Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours thick, black and mildly oily with a very small tan head. Feels a bit thin and watery on the palate which is most unfortunate. I rather prefer a thicker brew. The flavor is bitter and smoky with not much else to back it up with.

Possibly the worst named beer ever and unfortunately the name matches the taste. Among the worst aromas as well, highly vegetal, cooked corn, peas. Barest hints of minty wheaty malt and bananas. Mildly zesty wheat flavors but the creamed corn vegetal notes seriously detract from drinkability. Borderline empty finish, disjointed. Cloudy pale yellow, fading head. This is absolute crap, flawed and the worst beer in the Rockies lineup, avoid. Entire bomber dumped after 6oz’s tasted. (not stale either, this summer’s batch has only just arrived locally)

Clear amber/copper coloured body with a medium white head. Aroma complete of hops and a prolonged maltiness. Light to Medium-bodied; Nutty, malty flavour with some hops and not much else. Aftertaste is just as bland as the taste-nothing showing. Overall, a sub-par amber...even for the already horrible style. I got this twelve ounce bottle from Phil (haddon90) in Knoxville, Tennessee...thanks again Phil!
