Description
Founded as the Boulder Brewing Company in 1979 as the first craft brewery in Colorado; it started brewing the following year. In 1990, the company changed its name to Boulder Beer Company. In 1993 the company again renamed itself as the Rockies Brewing Company. In 2005, the company again changed its name back to the Boulder Beer Company.
In January 2020 the brewpub closed but through a new partnership with Sleeping Giant Brewing Company in Denver, who will continue to brew, package and distribute the Boulder Beer brands to the retail market, the brand will stay alive.

BBE SEPT112015 - Pours pitch black with a foamy head. Aroma of roasty malts, chocolate, cocoa and hints of vanilla. Taste is smooth, sweet and chocolatey with some cocoa and vanilla. Finish is sweet, smooth and slightly roasty with some chocolate, cocoa and vanilla. Okay.

65 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. BBE 11.09.2015. Aroma has artifical milk chocolate, cocoa and some roastines. Flavour has artifical chocolate, some roastinrss, licorice and coffee. Finishes with some ashy notes. Sweet and artifical but I seem to enjoy this.

Cask at GBBF 2015, Olympia, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige white head on top. Roasty, malty, dark fruit aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, dark fruit.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2015 day 1. Black / mahogany brown coloured pour with a thin light tan head. Aroma is nice woody, toasted coconut, light berry, earthy. Flavour is woody, charred wood, earthy, milk choc, dirty, palate is milky, semi sweet, dried fruit. OK.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Hazy dark brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Decent condition. Tangy dark malts. Tangy dark fruits the move through Dandelion & Burdock and Coca Cola flavours. Mild chocolate. Light dry finish. Very fruity and entertaining Porter.

Cask at gbbf 2015 day 4. Hazed orange amber coloured pour with a fleeting loose white head. Aroma is citrus fruit, Mellon and peach, light plastic, apricot, juicy mango and a hint of caramel. Flavour is composed of spicy citrus rind, solid base malt with a pinch of caramel, juicy fruits and passion fruit. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Very smooth and juicy IPA.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and grainy and cornish. Mild estery and slight fruity. Bitter and slight herbal.

Bottled at Flying Scotsman, Stockholm. Hazy golden, mid sized head. Coriander and grapefruit up front. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Syrup, coriander and citrus. Syrupy and unrefined.
