Pours amber with a lasting head.Nose shows caramel, nutty malt and soft minty and floral hops. A bit weird, not exactly hoppy.Flavours include nutty, toasty and almost peated (???) malt alongside some very soft spicy hops and a bit of booze.Could use more carbonation.Seems more like an altbier with peated malt than an IPA....

Bottle, 9C. First glass clear, second a murky amber with an off-white head that fades to a fat coat then lasts. Aroma of berries, vinegar, gin, apples. Thinnish mouthfeel with a hint of slickness and rather too much carbonation. Rather weak malt flavours, some berries and herbal flowers, tart apples and wood in a nice dry finish. Very refreshing.

Pours hazy straw with a small, rapidly dissipating head.Nose shows cidery notes, citrus peel, cinnamon, banana, cloves. Not sure what this is aiming for, hefe or wit. Reminiscent of T58 yeast. Big doughy yeasty notes.Flavours include more cinnamon, wheat, cidery notes and little else.Could use more carbonation. To make things worse, the last two slabs we got of this were infected.... Not a good track record.

Pours murky brown with a large head.Nose shows berries, funky notes and little else.Flavours include acidic berries and some cardboard notes. Falls flat very quickly. Need more of a malt backbone, seems very weak (almost watery) at the moment.Way too much carbonation.

Bottle, 10C. Golden amber with a white head that fades a bit but lasts. A bit hazy but pretty. Aroma of biscuit, orange marmalade, apricots. Creamy, alive texture is a reminder of how much good bottle conditioning can add. Sweet caramel and biscuit, some stone fruit, creeping bitterness with oranges and flowers. Good stuff, right up my street. Hope these folks are real Taswegians or there’ll be trouble over that label.

Pours copper with a large, lasting head.Nose shows biscuity, bready malt, soft spicy notes and very faint sweet floral/berry notes.Flavours at first consist of a tangy bite followed by spicy notes. After that the malt shows up, with big biscuity, bready characters alongside toasty melanoidin hints.Carbonation is a bit full on really.I wasn’t expecting much from this but was pleasantly surprised. The berries and rose hips are very subtle but provide a refreshing initial start. Not worth the $13.50 though....

From a 330ml bottle on 14/12/2011. Pours a pale cloudy yellow with a big head. Has an aroma of banana and spices. The flavour is curious. There’s quite a bit sharp spiciness against a lemony, orange peel background, but not much else. Has a short, abrupt finish. Not a good example of the style.
