From a 330ml can, labeled ’Chocolate and Coffee Stout’, ABV 7%. Pours a deep brown with a medium head. The aroma features lots of chocolate and some coffee, as one might expect given the name. Flavour wise, there’s pronounced coffee and chocolate (both sweet milk and bitter dark), with a fairly assertive roasty bitterness at the back. The palate is slightly creamy and the carbonation moderate. This comes together really well, with a lovely sweet bitter balance, and real length and intensity. Top stuff.

From a 330ml can (labelled Canis Major IIPA). Pours a deep dark golden with a medium head. The nose is very gorgeous - oodles of caramel, toffee and lots of fruity hops.Very malt driven flavour wise with more toffee and caramel, along with orange marmalade and apricot. The hops are pronounced and quite resiny, providing nice balance. Has a slick texture and moderate carbonation. Juicy complex and extremely flavoursome. A lovely surprise and way better than current ratings on here would suggest. I shall be revisiting.

330ml can into shaker. Hazy amber beer with large frothy white head. Medium carbonation. Nose is earthy dry hops. Flat mouthfeel, smooth texture. Taste is stonefruit, finish is more lingering earthy dryness. Super easy drinking, very quenching.

Can. Slightly unclear amber, off-white head that lasts OK. Restrained but pleasant aroma is floral with kumquat and pine as well as bread crust 6 + Light bodied, medium-high carbonation. Fruity with a little pine but not much more than caramel on the malt side. I wondered whether this was going to be essentially the same as their Organic Ale (or whatever they’re calling it this week) but it seems rather less sweet. Medium-high bitterness but not so dry as to make even something this insubstantial seem harsh. OK quaffer, clean and refreshing.

Can. Clear amber with an inch of cream head that’s soon a coat. 3+ Aroma of smoke, sticky bread crusts. Moderately sweet with subtle finishing bitterness. In between there’s smoke, bread, some wood. Plainer than their stronger Smoke and the better for it. Good.

Black with a light tan head that gradually settles to 1/2 an inch and then sticks around. Aroma of fine dark chocolate and medium roasted coffee. 7+ Silky texture, lowish carbonation. Intense chocolate, but not very sweet at all. There are "high" coffee flavours and boysenberries too. A little pepper and grass at the end and the coffee comes to the fore. Bitterness creeps up there quite a bit too. The chocolate (particularly) and coffee are very fine but maybe are too much of the show. Classy drop.

Bottle. Hazy brownish amber with a lovely dense off-white head that leaves rings and lasts very well. Aroma of hammy smoke, layers of toffee, a nectarine note that maybe doesn’t really fit. Tastes as it smells - real depth to the smoky toffee flavours, a fruity note that lightens things where I’m not sure I wanted it. A little spicy at the end. Good.
