Can. Gold with a dense 3/2 cm white head that lasts well. Toasty aroma with flowers and light citrus. Some piney and faintly medicinally herbal notes in the taste too as lightly toasty malt gives way to quite firm bitterness. As ever, plowing their own furrow.

From a can, at Shandong Mama Mini. Not terribly distinguished and rather empty where you'd expect some malt richness but enough bitterness to keep you interested. V food friendly.

Can. Very dark brown with a fading tan head. Roasty aroma with singed caramel, bread, hints of cherries, some grass. Medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Moderately sweet with gentle bitterness. If the normal version (which it seems I rated in 2010) is subtle, this maybe lacks presence. But it's again agreeable and well balanced.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Clear gold colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates to a thin layer and aroma of apple, green apple, some core. Taste is sweet, apple, green apple, some acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, medium-sweet finish. Quite OK
