Bottle @ home, picked up at Supermarket Liquor Fort Collins. Pours a black appearance with a lasting brown head. Anise, plums, figs, dark chocolate, oak, candy sugar, and some herbal notes in the aroma. Medium body, creamy mouth feel. Pretty intense herbal and earthy hops in the mouth. Moderate high bitterness and moderate sweetness. A little strong on the booze. Plenty of chocolate, roast, and raisins in the flavor. Fine but not exceptional. Original review text: Bottle @ Brouwers. Deep black appearance with a light brown head. Very nice, amazing bourbon, sweet oaky, light vanilla, roasty chocolate malty aroma. Amazing chocolate malty, sweet chocolate toffee, dark chocolate bourbon, light vanilla flavor. I’m really surprised that the Jim Beam barrels complement this so well.

12oz bottle pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is roast malts chocolate a little coffee and some molasses sweetness. Taste is more of the roast malts cocoa and a good bitterness on the end. Pretty tasty. Original review text: On tap at Brouwer’s Seattle. Pours out a nice black topped with a brown head. Aroma of sweetness, pit fruit, chocolate and dark roast malts. Tast more of the sweetness. Some cherry and wood. Plenty of molasses also. A tasty brew.

Clean, barley, grass. Clear pale yellow, thin head. Grassy and thin. Moe lager than IPA.

Lemon flesh aroma. Cloudy golden, medium head. Dry, not tart. Mediym body fizzy.

Bottle courtesy of me. Hazy golden color. Aroma of herbal straw. Taste is barnyard straw. OK.

A very dry aroma of citrus and honey. Heaps of hops in the mouth with a nice malt structure underneath. Good length, nice palate.

Pretty average all the way around. Normal color and aroma, rather dull appearance. Taste is correct for the style, but not too exciting

I had this on tap at Paradise Valley Liquors

Poured a very dark brown with reddish hues and a small head of foam. That shrank to an island in the middle after a few minutes and it has very little lacing.

The smell is malty and somewhat nutty.

The taste has some chocolate malt notes and some nutty flavour and a very mild hop presence in the background. It finishes on a fruity note and the aftertaste is short. Medium carbo and a good mouthfeel for the style. Here's a good transition beer for those who may be a bit timid about trying something new. I think it's a good example of the style.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 9/3/2014. Pours slightly hazy bright golden color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, pear, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, coriander, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, spice, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange zest, pear, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, coriander, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, pear, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, coriander, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, spice, and yeast ester flavors; with a goood malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected for 5%. Overall this is a very nice blonde ale style. All around good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, spice, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
