Dark amber color with medium head. Malty, caramelly, sweet, with low bitterness, bit of alcohol, and some ending nuttiness. Mild fruity esters. I had some Belgian beer similar to this, not the most impressive though.
Simple, not bad.

750ml bottle thanks to Toby via Jake if my memory serves me correct. Pours out a pale straw color topped with a small head. Nose is green apple lemongrass and some spice. Taste is more of the green apple spice citrus and a good amount of bread.

Bottle. Opaque black color, big brown head with spider web lacing. Aroma of fruity coffee grounds and cocoa powder. Taste has cocoa and dark coffee. Decent.

Purchased a four pack at Binny’s South Loop location. Great looking pour which displayed a thick tan creamy head on top the black stout. Spotty tan lace across the snifter. Aroma is mill chocolate candy, mild tobacco leaves and moderate roast.

The body is full and the quality I expect from the style. The texture gives a pleasing smooth creamy texture. Flavor is the aromas with the tobacco an underlying hint under the roast, chocolate bar and traces of alcohol. I would love to see how this stout would age in a bourbon barrel. Heavy, full bodied, velvety smooth over the palate. Heavy on oak but that is what I like about it.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is smooth, with oats, light cocoa and a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is smooth and restrained, with oats and a touch of very dry cocoa. Not a whole lot going on here, but it's sure smooth and drinkable.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate goodness. Flavor is roasted malt, a major sweetness and alcohol is present. Finish has more of the alcohol and sweetness. Tame the sweetness and hide the alcohol better and you may have something here.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 12/10/2014. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, toasted oats, light coffee, brown bread, herbal, floral, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, toasted oats, light coffee, brown bread, herbal, floral, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, caramel, cocoa, toasted oats, light coffee, brown bread, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and complexity of dark/roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice oatmeal stout style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. Not as bold as some other oatmeal stouts; but still very well rounded and nicely enjoyable in flavors.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear dark orange amber with a small white head. Aroma is very fruity and malt-heavy, with loads of caramel, toasted nuts, bready notes, and some herbal qualities. Flavour is cloyingly sweet, with lots of caramel, bready notes, and lots of residual sugar. Way too sweet, not anywhere close to a biere de garde. Not good.
