Cask, half pint shared with Finn at Brewhouse & Kitchen. Spotty lacing from a low white head. Hazy grey-golden body. Grain and citrus on the nose. Grapefruit and bread to the taste buds. Decent partner to the feta salad. (Bristol 30.04.2017).

Cask, half-pint shared with Finn at Brewhouse & Kitchen. Filmy layer, fragile lacing, ruby in body colour slightly clouded. Aroma of bread and caramel. Similar taste profile with a backdrop of leafy hops. Average. (Bristol 30.04.2017).

Cask-conditioned at Bristol Beer Festival, 24/3/2017. Pale gold in colour, with a thin, white, head. Mango and tangerine fruits, grassy hops, crisp, biscuity malts and a dryish finish. Good.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 16/2/2017. Deep brown in colour, with a frothy, tan, head. Aroma of brown sugar, cocoa and toasty malts. Easy drinking with chocolate sweetess, rich malts and a touch of coffee, before a gentle, toasty, finish. Very good.

On keg at the brewpub, Bristol 15/12/2016. Cloudy gold, with a thin white head and touch of fizz. Tangerine and stone fruits, biscuity malts, plenty of grassy hops and dryish finish. Fine.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity at the brewpub November 2016. Near black in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Sweetish aroma of chocolate, prunes and toasty malts. Flavours of plain chocolate, roasted malts and berry fruits, before a gentle, warming, finish. Enjoyable.

Cask-conditioned at the brewpub, 4/11/2016. Slightly hazy amber, with a decent, off-white, head. Malty beer, with some red berries, orange peel and a touch of New World hops in a dryish finish. The brewer told me he had recently ’tweaked’ this beer and I enjoyed it.

Cask-conditioned at the brewpub, 10/102015. Golden with a decent, white, head. Aroma of tropical fruits, green herbs and sherbet. Flavour had plenty more fruits, crisp malts and a dryish, hoppy, finish. Very good.

Cask-conditioned at the brewpub, 10/10/2015. Medium brown in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Sweet, brown sugar and berry fruit aroma. Flavour was similar, with a hint of chocolate powder and soft finish. Pleasant drinking.
