Drank in the company of brewmaster Matt Allyn. Slight haze in an otherwise ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance. Very little aroma but what aroma it has is mild hint of sweetness. A warm feeling follows each sip and each sip makes me appreciate the beautiful sunset outside a little more and more. Very little carbonation. This beer is not in your face, I was expecting a rather rude alky awakening with this brew but it is pleasantly lacking. Many american made belgian strongs are quite unrefined, I am please to add this is not of that genre. This is one of the few american made belgie imitations that actually reach into the level of a real belgie. Good job Voodoo! You are a strong entry into the otherwise below average example of american belgies.

Drank in the company of brewmaster Matt Allyn. Big dark brown opaque pour, very impressive on the looks. Big creamy head. Large porter or stout attractiveness, I don’t know how this could be in the brown ale style - this is all dark porter or mild black stout. Pretty strong initial flavors but not in your face. Roastiness abounds like the partially burned wood of a campfire that has been recently extinguished. Damp wet partially burned wood or charrd grill meat coats the back of your throat. A fun beer. This local brewer got something going here. This certainly is not your typical brown ale. Finsh of a heavy porter or dry stout.

My first zwickel and I was glad to have caught it at 3 Sons in wexford. Drank in the company of brewmaster Matt Allyn. Slightly cloudy pale yellow. Big and small bubbles abound in the head. Fresh pils aroma, rather interesting. Oooh boy, this stuff has a background flavor of a barn, cow manure and straw, but of course in a good saison way. Barely any carbonation. The manure is interestingly good to the taste buds but there is a bitter impact that keeps on building thru the session. Interesting but probably a little too complex for my simplistic lager taste buds.

Drank in the company of brewmaster Matt Allyn. Beautiful aroma, smells like a good wine spritzer. Cloudy rose color. Bubbly thin head with a variety of large and small bubbles. Has some bitter impactbut that fruity taste bud flavor is quite pleasing. There is certainly loads of fruit variety in this brew. Barely any carbonation. Bitter attribute builds thru the session. Not bad for a fruit beer, above average. Could have a few more manners.

Drank in the company of brewmaster Matt Allyn. Smells rather spicey. Appearnce is cloudy and slightly brownish pale yellow. Thin girdle around the inside edge of the glass for a head. Very little carbonation. Has an interesting heavy wit bier attitude. You can tell this is a stronger wit beer. Finish is not in your face considering how big this is. I’m not sure if imperial witbiers should be in the category of witbier.
