Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.

We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.

Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Golden colour, white head. Sour aroma, diacetyl, butter, lemon rinds. Sour flavour, butter candy (those old fashioned Dutch ’yellow butter waffles’), fudge, funky notes. Finish butter candy, citrus, lemon zest. Not very complex, and a bit heavy on butter for my liking, but decent and with some balance. Not bad at all.

Warm amber golden colour, white head. Light fruity aroma, butter, diacetyl, ethylacetate, nail polish remover, vinegar. Sour flavour, somewhat fruity. Sour finish, fruity, butter. Rather unbalanced sour, bit disappointing really.

At Rich’s Massive Cellar Emptying Tasting. Lambic 2013 a cloudy gold with a tart, bready and mild. The taste is oak, spice, soft bodied. An ok beer but very mild for anything calling itself a lambic.

At Rich’s Massive Cellar Emptying Tasting. Rivertown ojos negros 2012 A matte copper-Amber pour with a cork, perfumey and light blackberries. Very acidic sparkling carbonation- gassy with a heartburn inducing co2. The taste is cork, chalky, whiskey barrel caracter no berries really.

Sample at The CI as part of Ohio Brew Week. Hazy pale yellow color with a thing white head that evaporates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lacing. Tart fruit, wheat and malt in the nose. Light body with flavors of tart citrus, wheat and pale malts. The finish is mildly sour with a tart citrusy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle @ Drink Rich’s American beer, thanks to Omgrich.

Bottle @ Drink Rich’s American beer, thanks to Omgrich. Anno 2013. Reste assez monodimensionnelle.

Clear pale blond beer, no head. Aroma: little funky, sourish, quite some chlorine (which usually only appears in sours with fruit). MF: light to no carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, funky, watery, weird. Aftertaste: some tannins, dry, bit funky, watery finish. Pretty weak...
