75cl bottle from Etxe Peio, St Jean de Luz. Pours a clear gold, moderate fine effervescence. Easy-going middle-of-the-road medium, quite apply with some dessert fruit character, not sharp basque style.. some syrupy sweet action, fine easy-sipper on the beach.

Bottle at the Sideria Iretza in Astigarraga, after being shown their magnificent wooden barrel vat cellar.
Hazy golden with a glow. Medium-dry with a hint of sweetness. Fair apple that leaves a tangy aftertaste.

Sample courtesy of mR_fr0g, cheers Fergus! Golden colour, afew short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of apple, light acetic funk. Taste is tart, tangy, apple, lemon zest, funky, drying, with some acidity and alittle drying tannin. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry funky tart acidic finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle at home picked up from the Sidra museum near San Sebastian. A light hazed golden ywellow coloured pour with a halo of white head that fades. Aroma is dry tangy apple, spicy vinegar notes, green sharp apple. Seom mealy apple on the nose. Flavour is composed of, super sharp green apple, under ripe granny smith, tinges of vinegar, lemon rind, woody fruit pips. spicy finish. Palate is uber dry, prickly, sharp , pinch of acid, moderate fine carbonation. Decent sharp funk.

4oz pour at the brewpub in Astigarraga. Pours a dark marigold with zero head. Nose is very mild, apples, cheese rind, mild honey. Flavor is also mild, apple and... lightly floral. Watery finish.

bottle bought in Hondarribia, Basque-Spain. pours a nice golden hue, effervescent white head. aroma, astringent apple, fermentation nose, touch of pineapple/white currant. flavors, apple, dominated by a nice astringency and lingering touch of yeast, giving the mouthfeel a nice floral and tropical fruit aspect. Some pineapple can be noted with some citrus undertones.
