Brown with a lasting off-white head. Funky berry aroma with American oak and tannin - quite typical American sour aroma. Sweet and drying tannin and berry flavour

Bottled. Deep amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is wood, some berries, semi-sour but also quite sweetish notes. Flavour is quite muvh the same, a rather wellbalanced fruit lambic.

August 2008 Beer of the Month Club
(Rating is from 9/2/08)
Overall Impression: Not a bad lager, but certainly isn't anything special. I wish the Beer of the Month would pick some of the more interesting beers these brewery's offer, instead of their standard lager.

August 2008 Beer of the Month Club

Overall Impression: Pretty dark and bitter for a golden, but lacking any exceeding flavor characteristics, just not a whole lot there.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazed amber body and a small white head. Aroma is sour with sweet funk and lightly buttery, vanilla, oak, fruit, berries, and wine. Taste is extremely tannic. Behind the tannins there is a medium tartness, berries, oak, yeast, cheese and tart currants. Light carbonation.

2007 750ml bottle from AllDayDrinker! Thanks! Nose of light funky brett with a bunch of earthy oakiness thrown in. It appears opaque when the glass is fuller but when the level gets to less than an inch it is clear rusty red brown with a small beige head. Flavor is light, funky barnyard with some oak and light cranberries. The earthy oak mostly covers the cranberries.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating tan head and black color. Aroma is ashy then dark fruit-prune/fig, some off putting notes. Taste is sweet dark malt-molasses/toffee, dark fruit-prune, some hops bite. Soft, nice. Thanks to donkeyrunner/Shane for this trade with jwc215 & me.

Cloudy brown. Brett and lots of yeast in the aroma and flavor. Just a little sour but I suspect it could become more sour over time. Some barnyard character.
