Bottle 0.33l at home, Nivala. Secret Santa 2017 from still unknown sender. Color is almost black with small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Strong coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Pretty soft but little bit of greasy.

Bouteille 33cl de Malt Attacks. BB 20/07/2022. Cuivre, col beige, café au lait. Arôme offre un effet de poudreux, poussiéreux grains tirant sur léger grillé. Le rétro houblonné qui est assez marqué et je note un léger effet mentholé. fleuri tirant sur léger tropical d'ananas. Effet grain reste bien là en retrait avec un retour de café. Palais est malté, grillé, pas mal de torréfié avec un petit côté poudreux et finement houblonné qui ressort tout de même pas mal en fin de bouche. Chocolaté, léger grillé marqué avec un café un peu plus en recul le tout sur un effet léger de noisettes.Cependant, l'effet de mélasse revient à la charge sur la fin.

Bottle @ Willems Grobbendonk. Pours amber copper red with a White creamy head. Rich Chewy malts. Dark fruit, biscuit and caramel - Lovely. Good bitter finish. De Ranke is the shit!

Bottle @ Willems, Grobbendonk. Pours Hazy deep Golden with a White head. Yeast and floral hops. Slight Grass and citrus. Doughy. Bitter finish.

F: big, egg-white, good retention. C: gold, hazy. A: bit citrus, bit floral, tropical fruits, peach, bit yeasty, honey/herbal. T: malty, citrus, nice dry bitterness on the palate, bit floral, peach, bit dough, mango, bit herbal, yeast, medium body and carbonation, very good balanced, creamy mouthfeel, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Bierwinkel De Hopduvel in Gent.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 10/11/2018. Dorée, col blanc crémeux. Arôme au nez bien houblonné, retrouve un effet rappelant clairement les houblons C, pin, résineux avec un bon fleuri, petite touche fruité en rétro - pêche. Palais est assez houblonné et s’éloigne clairement de ces sempiternelles ipa belges couvertes par des levures belges trop dominantes, cependant, on reste clairement sur du belge. Houblonné avec belles notes fruitées tropicales, gazon , résineux. Finement épicé sur la fin rappelant le girofle, le tout reste assez sec voire un peu de trop. Retrouve encore une petite percée fleuri en fin de bouche.
