A happy surprise in a part of the country where quality beer is hard to find - this is as good as brewpub stouts get - opaque with a tan head - robust, roasty aroma - chewy, with a big time chocolate malt character, but just enough bitterness to balance it out - ranks right next to Heartland Farmer Jon’s in NYC, IMHO.
