Bottle from Market Street Wine Shop Downtown. No, you won’t find any more. Reddish brown color with a medium head and good retention and lacing. Slightly tart caramel aroma. Very grainy taste with fruity and spicy notes. Smooth. Medium body.

Guest tap at South Street Brewery. Yellowish golden colored with moderate head retention. Grainy pils-like aroma with a very similar taste. Somewhat grassy. Kinda blah.

Bottle: Thick, dark brown (near black) pour with a small, creamy brown head. Heavy roast and chocolate flavors permeate the air. Coffee and molasses as well. The flavor is a smooth blend of chocolate and roast. Light amount of coffee. Very creamy, yet the high ABV is detectable. Thanks to The_Epeist for this trade item - a winter stout enjoyed in June!

Bottle from Wine Cellar. Smooth nutty, roasted malt aroma. Dark brown color with ruby glints in the thin spots. Tan head that went up and ringed quickly. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Rich smooth dark roasted malt, with a bit of coffee and chocolate. Think there was some dark fruit before the coff and choc kicked in. There is a moderate amount of hop bitter, but the type is submerged in the c&c. Barring the bitter level, this is very like a porter in character. Tastes really good.

Rerate from the new bomber under the Russian Imperial Stout label. Pours a dark brown color appearing pitch black in the glass. Small dark brown head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, nuts, caramel and faint fruity notes. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, tobacco, leafy bitter hops, stone fruits, caramel. Medium-full bodied. Excellent beer, as usual. 7/3/8/4/16

Bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours peach colored with a good sized head and good lacing. Very sweet honey-ish aroma. Taste is smooth with a grapefruit-ish tang. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours dark, dark brown. Near black. Rich, foamy head. Very malty aroma, full of raisins and other dark fruits. Taste is smooth, and sweet, with just a hint of bitterness. Very well balanced.

22 oz bottle. Brown pour with a small white head. Aroma is chocolates, caramel. Flavor is creamy and smooth caramels and a slight hint of chocolates. A little thinner than I would have liked but a very decent local brown ale overall.
