Bottled in Texas. Poured a very huge heady white. Tons of funky brett yeast and some nice fruits and such. Pretty nice saison.

This 12 oz bottle was obtained at the Total Wine in the Heights in Houston on a visit to the prodigal son. I have my Chimay glass in place after an earlier tasting of a quadrupel, no reason to change, duh. I see an extremely dark brown, viscous appearing, body with a following ring of light tan bubbles. The fragrance is lightly chocolate and a comparable amount of coffee. I take a drink and get a pleasant surprise. Yes, there is coffee but it does not wipe out everything else. Chocolate too of course, grain, malt, a touch of berries and some earthiness. Pleasant overall.

2018 vintage 12 oz bottle poured. Copper reddish brown pour. Bit of a snow globe of sediment after 7 years of cool and dark age. Active carb still, and a lasting head. Big maple nose, some bran, spicy .alts, and a touch of barrel. Really a smooth brew for its strength. Is it even a brown ale anymore at a hair short of 14%? Moderately dense body, spicy malts, bold toasty grain, bran, lingering dry whiskey and oak. Late maple like reminder. Definitely a layered BA brew, and something a lot different than your expected barrel offerings. Really stood the test of time too. Very nice.

A strong ale that was aged in Wheat Bourbon barrels from Ben Holladay. Damn, I have been waiting for this one. A 12 oz bottle picked out at Half Time. Thereβs a globe glass in place, the cap is off and Iβm pouring. A dark toffee brown body finished by a minimal skim of khaki foam. The smell is super, dark ripe fruit, baked grain and booze. The drink is simply better, I shouldβve bought more than one. Dark plums, wheat bread, chocolate, berries of some kind, wood, cane syrup, whiskey and dates. Ommegang made a beer some years ago that was a combination of imperial stout and quadrupel, a phenomenal beer. This is scarily similar. Scary in a good way. Easily the top tasting I have had in some time.

Can, pour is pale light orange with slight haze. Nose is somewhat strong orange guava, I guess. Barely any co2 on the palate. Mostly a thicker fruit juice feel to this. No sign of beer or alky at all in the taste. Just curious of this is really a beer? Goes down way too easy, just like a breakfast drink. No lie, if I didn't look at the an, I'd think I was drinken a healthy sweetart breakfast fruit drink. In the middle I am finally getting a tiny amount of cutting co2 in there. Not bad, just not sure if this is really beer, hehehehh.

Bottle.
A- Brown color, dark liquid, tan head.
A- Mild tobacco, cola, cocoa,
F- Cola, mild tobacco, slightly roasty,
T- Medium body, slightly thin texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Pretty light in terms of aroma and flavor. Expected a much bigger bolder brew. A weak porter honestly.
