Light golden - cloudy white appearing, very appropriate for witbier. Medium carb, but small head, dissipating quickly. Aroma is enjoyable, with banana, citrus and spice. Zesty and dry, with a light sweetness. Very nicely balanced

Although I'm leaving my original notes below, I'm re-doing this rating after a couple years of having this beer as a regular standby. Pours a dark black showing brown at the edges with s a medium tan pitted head. Aroma is roasty and chocolatey, with a touch of citric hops. Flavor is chocolatey and a little coffeeish, with a medium citric hop flavor and roasted finish. Overall palate is somewhat light, with a dry finish. Oustandind porter, and credit to VENOM for the recommendation, and a happy discovery now that I live within this brewery's range. Excellent appearance, rich deep dark brown color with full foamy head that lasts the whole glass long. Rich roasty aroma with a hefty nose of resiny citric hops. Flavor is equally hoppy with a med to full body and plenty of roasted and sweet malt flavors to go around. Yet with all that flavor, the smooth mouthfeel makes this an easily quaffable glass. I can easily drink several of these in a sitting.

Completely reworking my initial rating on this. This beer typifies the American Wheat style if any beer does. Pale gold, foamy head with OK retention. Lively. Lightly spicy aroma, hint of floral hops. Light malt flavor, hint of citrus, mild finishing bitterness. Exceptionally clean. It all sounds bland and boring doesn't it? And while that case could be made, a beer like this makes an excellent alternative to American Standard style lager, being that even if light on flavor it still has some, and the flavor it has is good. Wheat as a lightening adjunct tastes tons better than rice.
