About
In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.

Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

Big thank you to kappldav123 for this 0,5 l bottle. Cloudy pale golden with a steady two finger white foamy head in the glass. Strange smell, sourness with some smoke. Taste starts with fruity sourness, then increasing mid smoke with malt and caramel. Smooth balanced stuff. Nice.

Bottle at home! Looks really good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Spicy-malty aroma. Starts mild but not washy. Fine spicy, light sourish-fruity notes of lemon, mild bitterness. Really interesting light smokey background. Finish well balanced. Quite drinkable! I really like it!

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from the Hereford Beer House. Pours clear yellow with a billowing, creamy white head. Fairly effervescent. Lightly sweet, somewhat lactic, some lemony tang, mellow acidity, a little salty bite. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Clean finish, more salty bite, quenching acidity, nips of wheat, lemon. Mighty drinkable and refreshing.

Backlog November 2017. Unclear orange amber body under a small tan head. Aroma has acidic berries and minerals. Taste is sweet caramel malt, vinegar, minerals and hint of dry fruit. Medium body and same aftertaste. Interesting combo of Bock and Gose.

This brewpub is great also because it serves Gose from the other two Gose breweries in Leipzig, both of which are closed today. This is the most famous one. Beautiful stuff. Salt and coriander FTW. Deer, Brussels sprouts, and Knödel also ftw.
