Description
The Abita Brewing Company is nestled in the piney woods 30 miles north of New Orleans. In its first year, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer. We had no idea what we started. Customers loved our beer! By 1994, we outgrew the original site (now our 100-seat brew pub) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand.

We brew more than 125,000 barrels of beer and 13,500 barrels of soda of in our state-of-the-art brewing facility. Our lagers and ales are brewed in small batches, hand-crafted by a team of dedicated workers with only the highest ideals of quality. This pride, along with our brewing process, is what creates our great brews.

We are privately owned and operated by local shareholders, many who have been with us since day one.

On tap at redfish grill. Pours a clear amber with a frothy light tan head that leaves sticky lacing on the glass. The aroma is a fruity malt with caramel. The taste is a sweet fruit with raisin and a nice bitter finish. A good doppelbock from abita.

Bomber from BevMo. Dark gold color with a multifinger frothy white head. Aromas of grain and veg and canteloupe? Medium plus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is grain, sugar (not kandi), and something like mild noble hop. It starts rather pale malty, but, barring what sticks to your lips, it finishes dryish. Even some hop bitter comes forth in the end. It’s a very different sort of thing. I think it’s rather underrated because it is so far off the beer norms. Keep an open mind folks.

Updating this rating, as I had one today

Aroma: Smell is all strawberries
Appearance: Clear yellow
Flavor: Sweet, plus the lager malt characteristics
Palate:Light body, chewy, lots of carbonation
Overall Impression: I remember this being a very fruity beer. Too sweet for my liking, but I could see how someone might enjoy it, if that was there type of beer.
**Updated with additional information, but the rating stayed the same.

Overall Impression: Nice solid beer, pecan flavor is pretty faint, and not much else going on with it other then your standard ale tastes.

Overall Impression: Ok IPA, not great, but definately something I would drink again. Certainly not near the top of its style.

Overall Impression: I remember this being a decent Amber beer, but I just didn't stick in my brain too well.

**I will need to re visit this ranking in the future, as I don't remember all the intricacies of this beer well enough to record them at this time.

Overall Impression: This is one of those beers that I haven't had in a long time, and I don't remember it all that well, but I do remember thinking it was relatively mediocre...
