Bottle from Sainsburys. Very clear yellow with a bubbly white head. Aroma is citrussy, peppery and slightly herbal. Little bit of cream soda about the smell too. Taste is a bit plain but quite nice bitterness. Bitterness lingers a little while in the mouth. Feels maybe a bit gassy, but doesn't seem to be very highly carbonated. Quite like it, but wouldn't necessarily have it again.

Bottle from Aldi. Clear golden body with a thick white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of raw potato, biscuit and earth. Flavour of green vegetables and grassy hops. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. There’s very little flavour here. I don’t know for sure but I’d guess this been pasteurised.

Molasses, chocolate malt, peat, hay, and alcohol aroma. Oil black with minimal head. Moderately sweet smoky peat, molasses, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay and alcohol flavor. Great body and balance. Delicious - nice whisky flavor without overwhelming the base beer.

Bottle from Solan, thanks! Pitch black and opague. Peataroma with dark chocolate, cream and coffee. Malty sweet flavor with peat, cream and dark chocolate. Peat dominating in the aftertaste. A marvel of balance, this beer. Malt, oak, peat and alcohol in almost perfect harmony.

Bottle from Solan, thanks! Almost black and opague. oak and peat, but also cream and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with initial caramel and chocolate, overpowered by peat, oak, single malt whisky notes, cacao and grapes. A marvel of balance in aroma and flavor. Loved it, but this beer is just a bit too thin to be closer to perfection.

Bottle. Black and opague. Cream, ash and peated malt in the aroma. Initial chocolate overpowered by licorice, peat and whisky. Full bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Ash and pipe tobacco. Some warming alcohol. Lovely!
