Description
WAYFINDER BEER is a new brewery project in Portland, Oregon. We have transformed a 8,900 square feet of a century-old brick warehouse in Portland's Central Eastside into a classic destination for beer and food lovers.

Wayfinder is the brainchild of Charlie Devereux (co-founder of Double Mountain Brewery), Matthew Jacobson (co-founder/owner of Sizzle Pie, Quality Bar, and Relapse Records) and Rodney Muirhead (co-founder/owner of Podnah's Pit and La Taq). Our mission: to bring simple and authentic pleasures of the highest quality to the Rose City and beyond.

Guests to Wayfinder will find enjoyment in our 110-seat taphall, or outside on our massive patio. Our menu of handcrafted comfort food features deliciousness from a custom wood-fired grill. We're using our four-vessel, 10-barrel brewhouse to create world-class lagers and ales for onsite enjoyment and wholesale distribution.

On tap at Chuck's CD, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has bitter citrusy hops, a little pine, some grass, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has bold, with piney hops, light dankness, some grass, and a dry biscuity underside. Bold and yet fairly soft on the palate with good balance. Excellent.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated August 29, 2024. Aroma is malt forward with notes of toasted white bread, hints of caramel and a bit of cracker. Light floral hop notes and hints of alcohol. Pours a clear, golden color with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with medium light notes of toasted bread, light caramel and cracker malt. Medium low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light floral, herbal hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied and fairly crisp with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid festbier. Good malt character balanced with nice hop notes. Alcohol is balanced as well. Enough malt character and body to make it interesting but with a crisp enough finish to make it easy drinking.

Canned 7/19, drunk 9/17/24. Clear, peachy-copper-amber. Large, white head, good retention. Mineral, bread and earth with dry herbs and no sign of the tea. At least not jumping out at you. Honey, caramel (light) and soft bread tones support the triple decoction claim here, and it's very malty but never sweet or overdone. Very clean. Very rich maltiness with peachy fruits, gentle bitterness, dry, earthy hops and maybe some tea, though I'd never guess tea. I assume it mostly provides balance here and helps support the earthy, herbal, bitter character. Malts are somewhat dense though drying out fairly well on the finish. Caramel, honey, marmalade and light vanilla. So soft and supple on the palate. No alcohol or overly bready/toasty notes. Yeah, I'm a fan. Will certainly get more from these guys.

Can from Tavour. Pours very hazy gold with a decent white head. Aroma is juicy with lots of citrus and even white berry. Med body. Juicy but well towards dry and pretty bitter. Flavor is the aroma with perhaps some green melon. Hops have a mild bite. Really good flavor.
