Description
WAYFINDER BEER is a new brewery project in Portland, Oregon. We have transformed a 8,900 square feet of a century-old brick warehouse in Portland's Central Eastside into a classic destination for beer and food lovers.

Wayfinder is the brainchild of Charlie Devereux (co-founder of Double Mountain Brewery), Matthew Jacobson (co-founder/owner of Sizzle Pie, Quality Bar, and Relapse Records) and Rodney Muirhead (co-founder/owner of Podnah's Pit and La Taq). Our mission: to bring simple and authentic pleasures of the highest quality to the Rose City and beyond.

Guests to Wayfinder will find enjoyment in our 110-seat taphall, or outside on our massive patio. Our menu of handcrafted comfort food features deliciousness from a custom wood-fired grill. We're using our four-vessel, 10-barrel brewhouse to create world-class lagers and ales for onsite enjoyment and wholesale distribution.

On tap at Wayfinder, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is actually fairly subdued on the smoke, with toasted malt and some campfire character. Flavour is much more full on with the campfire smoke, with some ash, lots of dry smoke, and dry toasted malt. Low sweetness, not very meaty kind of smoke; just lots of campfire and toasted malt. Excellent.

On tap at Wayfinder, pours a clear copper amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt and a hint of dry caramel. Flavour is malty yet dry, with toasted bready, a hint of caramel, and assertive carbonation to hold it together. Competently made and well-structured. Good.

Tasty biscuity Vienna lager. Good malt base and lingering finish, I dig it.

Clear gold body with thick white head. Lawn aroma. Malty body with breadiness and a lager and light hop finish that really lasts. I will try this again.

Can - clear medium gold - lively carbonation - nose is floral with a moderate (bordering on heavy) smokiness - dry aroma, but with some slight underlying honey-like malt sweetness - body has a moderate malt richness, but gets a little watery in the finish - flavor is dry and lightly bitter up front, followed by intense smokiness and moderate sweetness on the tail end - lightly floral, with some mild background rusticity I can’t quite place - has some flaws, but overall enjoyable, with the level of smoky intensity I enjoy in the style.

16 oz. can, pours a pale golden blonde with a small white head. Nose is loaded with fresh, assertive piney hops, a touch of resinous hop oils, and crisp biscuity malt base. Flavour delivers a wonderful punch of west coast piney hop goodness, with some oily resins, and moderate-to-slightly-high sweet malt backbone. Crisp, assertive, with moderate bitterness for the style. It's sweeter than I'd want, but the boldness of the hops is great. Excellent west coast DIPA.

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a large creamy/foamy white head. Aroma is grass with a tiny bit of spice; pale malt. Med body or so. Crisp and clean for me. Grass/spice and pale malt crackery. Dry. Modestly bitter. Quite nice.
