Description
WAYFINDER BEER is a new brewery project in Portland, Oregon. We have transformed a 8,900 square feet of a century-old brick warehouse in Portland's Central Eastside into a classic destination for beer and food lovers.

Wayfinder is the brainchild of Charlie Devereux (co-founder of Double Mountain Brewery), Matthew Jacobson (co-founder/owner of Sizzle Pie, Quality Bar, and Relapse Records) and Rodney Muirhead (co-founder/owner of Podnah's Pit and La Taq). Our mission: to bring simple and authentic pleasures of the highest quality to the Rose City and beyond.

Guests to Wayfinder will find enjoyment in our 110-seat taphall, or outside on our massive patio. Our menu of handcrafted comfort food features deliciousness from a custom wood-fired grill. We're using our four-vessel, 10-barrel brewhouse to create world-class lagers and ales for onsite enjoyment and wholesale distribution.

Tall boy can, Skull can edition, pours with a watery clear pale gold body that supports a thin white head of foam. The aroma offers up apple and apricot juice as well as chemical boozy nail polish remover (key ML liquor character). The taste delivers sweet apple juice flowing into chemical booze and a bit of a malt to an inviting corn sensation. To midway it picks up a thin layer of spicy hops before the sugary chemical booze sweeps this malt liquor into the finish. Solid ML offering.

Pour is a clear copper with a large tan head. Aroma is a minor bready malt but this is way over hopped for the style. Flavor is more minor bready malt with some old school like cascade hops. Finish is also sweeter than the style should be. A way too Americanized version of what the style should be.

Ok, so douglas88 knows how to torture ol’ cheapo. Another pounder can of IPA, whew. Big thanks, no, I’m serious! I saw the label and I was thinking like farpoint, cool, like the old startrek next generation episodes, but no, its fairlight. So, after I fill my spangdahlem mug, with a big craggy white head, I drink the rest right out of the can. It pours clear and yellow like any other macro brew. Its another big bullshit blundering bum IPA, big bad and bitter-ass. So big and over the top it makes me want to stop tikkin IPA, heheh. I need a clean cheap macro pale lager to chase this with. This stuff is so IPA big, its so brutal, its so ball-busting, its so backbiting, its so banal and barbarian, it’s so beggarly and belittling, blasphemous blather. There you have it, what else can be said except its another one of a brazillion IPA out there. They practically all taste the same; bitter as all hell and some smell like BO and others do not. Diesel.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 12/01/2020 - 5 months old). Clear gold with white head. Biscuit malt, hint of caramel, mild pine hops with a hint of hop oil. Guessing it would have been better fresh(er) - adjusted my rating to reflect that.
